The GY-302 is a compact digital light intensity sensor module based on the BH1750 ambient light sensor IC. It measures ambient brightness and outputs the result digitally in lux over the I2C bus, so no analog conversion is needed. The module is useful for automatic lighting control, daylight sensing, weather stations, smart home projects, display brightness adjustment, and ESPHome or Home Assistant sensors. The BH1750 offers 16-bit light measurement, low power operation, and a spectral response close to the human eye. It is commonly used with ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers.
The BH1750FVI is a digital 16-bit ambient light sensor IC with an I2C interface and a measurement range listed as 1 to 65535 lux in the ROHM datasheet. It also has 50/60 Hz light noise rejection and low-current power-down support.
