Specifications

Microcontroller: ESP32-C3 (SG-1C) or ESP32-S3(SG-1S)

Radar Module: LD2410C

Detection range: depends on placement, sensitivity and installed radar firmware. The original guides disagree about detection distance. Gate numbers are settings, not metres, and are not a guaranteed detection range. Test both moving and seated occupants in the intended room before relying on an automation.

Field of View: 120 degrees

Power Supply: 5V DC (via USB-C)

Communication Protocols: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

Dimensions in mm: W27 x H23 x D15

Ideas for Automations

The LD2410C radar module in Detect series provides exceptional configuration and detection capabilities:
High Sensitivity: Detects minor movements, ensuring accurate presence detection.
Distance-gate tuning: Set separate movement and still-presence thresholds for radar gates 0–8. Gate numbers are not metres; see Configuration.

Automatic Lighting

Automatically turn on lights when human presence is detected and turn them off when no presence is detected for a specified period.

HVAC Control

Integrate your HVAC system to adjust the temperature based on occupancy, ensuring energy efficiency and comfort.

Security Enhancement

Detect human presence in your home and trigger alerts, cameras, or alarms.

Smart Bed Setup

Place the sensor under the bed to monitor presence and movement, triggering actions like adjusting the room temperature, playing soothing music, or turning off lights when you go to bed.
