Choose the monitored area
Place the sensor with a clear view of the area where people will walk or sit. Position and sensitivity both affect detection. Radar may detect through some non-metal materials, so test for unwanted detections outside the intended room.
The original guides disagree about detection distance. Gate numbers are settings, not metres, and are not a guaranteed detection range. Test both moving and seated occupants in the intended room before relying on an automation.
Wall placement
The original Senhus guide recommends a starting height of 1–1.5 m. Aim the sensor at the monitored area, then test seated and moving presence before fixing it permanently.

Ceiling placement
The original guide suggests at least 3 m for ceiling mounting. Treat this as a placement suggestion, not a guaranteed coverage specification. Test your actual ceiling height and room layout.

Tune and verify
Use Configuration to limit distance gates and adjust thresholds. Gate numbers are not metre measurements. Check an empty room as well as someone sitting quietly; change one setting at a time.
